Projek Pelita - UKEC

Dear respected students.

Projek Pelita is currently recruiting!

We are currently looking for dedicated and passionate people who are willing to take responsibility for roles such as the Assistant Project Director, Publicity Director, Logistics Director and Public Relations Officer.

A team is need pronto, to get the ball rolling and make further preparations.

For those who might not know what Projek Pelita is about, basically it’s a project which aims to refurbish four under-equipped libraries in Sarawak with books. The main concept of this project is to hold book collection drives in schools, shopping malls and bookstores around Kuching in aid of these libraries;

- Perpustakaan Desa Kpg. Santubong, Kuching North City Hall
- Perpustakaan Desa Kpg. Buntal, Kuching North City Hall
- Perpustakaan Desa Kpg. Simpok, Padawan Municipal Council
- Perpustakaan Desa Kpg. Mundai, Padawan Municipal Council

The length of the book campaign would be roughly 3 weeks, then would process and deliver the books to the libraries in the 4th week.

Those interested to help out need not be based in Kuching throughout the 4 weeks- we are looking for people who are willing to give up a little bit of time over their summer to dedicate to a good cause. And even though you have yet to return to Kuching by the 13th of June, you can still be part of the team. All we want is commitment and dedication! :)

As this is the first time the project is running, let’s make this a learning process for us to see how much we can contribute to the society through the project and hopefully expand it in the future to further rural libraries. So join us! Let's contribute to the society and make this project a success!
